Ets Alocs is situated at 11 kilometres from Ferreries, located between Punta d'ets Alocs and Esculls des Barco. This coastal stretch is the border between the municipalities of Ferreries and Ciutadella. The name is given by the Catalan word aloc (“willow tree”), a bush of two to four metres of height that grows in the surroundings. In the past, the fruit was used by women to re-establish the menstruation, and by both, men and women, to reduce the sexual desire.
