Blood Moon Rising

This image was captured in Southern California in the early morning hours of 10/8/2014. Nikon D610 connected to my Celestron 1500mm SCT Telescope with an f/6.3 focal reducer attached. Everything was riding on a CG5 German Equatorial Mount with auto-tracking active, enabling a 10 second exposure at such an extreme focal length.
