Ice Meets Sun

This is another shot from the sunrise I just posted yesterday. The glacier ice on shore have different luminosities from opaque to translucent. This particular piece of ice, like a precious stone, glowed and internalized the light glowing from within. From the first moment I saw the sun to when the sun ducked under the clouds it was six minutes. As I do more landscape work it has given me a huge appreciation for the patience, unpredictability, and speed required to photography the light when its right.
