The Ice Phoenix
I took this on the southern shore of Iceland this month. It had been rainy and drizzly all week, the kind that makes for poor photography. As I stood on the shore getting drizzeld on and sprayed by the ocean due to heavy winds ripping foam off of the wave I got lucky with a break. Many of the glaciers that have come along the shore have a unique appearances and this one was being tossed about the shore with the waves. It landed flat and a wave crashed over it giving it wings like a phoenix being released from the ocean. Right after this shot the sun ducked under the clouds never to shine again that day. via NiravHShah http://500px.com/photo/86569267
