Currently testing out my new website! www.landESCAPEphotography.com ANNOUNCEMENT: I just wanted to address an error in a recent email that some of you may have gotten. Contrary to what the email says, I am no longer affiliated with the Skyfire project. I cannot confirm or vouch for any meteorological viability of the product that was released this weekend. (If you haven't heard of Skyfire, don't worry, and wait for a product that meteorologists approve of.) I'm fine, though; I'm moving forward with my life and career as a photographer and meteorologist :) A Sierra moment that I will forever remember as if it were yesterday. This spot is about 20 miles into the backcountry and a half day's trek from the nearest maintained trail. My initial plan was to drop down the other side of the pass for the night, but high altitude and a heavy pack slowed me down and sapped my energy, forcing me to plop down and set up camp on the summit of the pass. Then this happened. As always, comments and real critiques are welcome, as are Sierra buffs who want to name some of the peaks in the background :) If you really want the full experience here, make sure to view on black right next to its sister shot, Ride the Lightning! via landESCAPEphotography http://500px.com/photo/88607035
