Dramatic Silence II

This is a reprocessed version of my image "Dramatic Silence“ which I uploaded almost two years ago. Since then I have made a large development in post processing. If you compare this version with the one from two years ago you’ll see that I was in the HDR-hole back then. Anyway I captured this image on one of my first trips after getting into photography with 15yrs. It was created on Kubu Island in the so called Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in Botswana/Africa. It is one of the world’s largest Salt flats. The pan is all that remains of the formerly enormous Lake Makgadikgadi, which once covered an area larger than Switzerland, but dried up several thousand years ago. I’ve never before been in such a completely silent place. It feels really amazing to just stand there with nothing but salt in all directions and not a single noise that can be heard.
