Dreary
View it on black, the shadow detail gets completely crushed otherwise. This was almost a last-ditch shot from back in November as Brian Kibbons, Michael Bollino and I were wrapping up a day's worth of shooting fall color in the Columbia River Gorge. I was thoroughly moistened at this point, and had a hard time keeping my lens free of condensation - I'm sure I'm not the only one to have not at all mastered 'use the lens rag, umbrella, and 'carry the tripod another 10 feet to frame the shot better' dance. Anyway, Kibbons was missing in action somewhere, Bollino was enamored with a sweet vine maple that I somehow completely spaced out on earlier, so I was trying to find something a little less conventional, and this thin veil of fog just starting to roll through a little sliver of the forest stood out the most. via BryanSwan http://500px.com/photo/101342779
