Relentless

View on Black Here you can see some waves crashing into a rock alcove and spilling over the edge. When i watch this sort of thing take place I cant help but think how powerful a force water really is. This one wave probably only washed away a couple grains of sand. But multiply it by millions of waves over thousands of years and its no wonder landscapes are always changing. My goal in photography is to find things that no one else has ever photographed. Because who knows, it may never look that way again. This spot has been an elusive one for me for awhile now. Ive always been able to see the waves crashing into these rocks, but never figured out how to get to them. It took me wading through the waves, around some cliffs and through a bunch of rocks to get to. By the time I did I was completely soaked. Shivering cold and looking for new and interesting compositions. That was a task in and of itself. When I got everything set up and found a composition I liked I realized I had forgot my trigger in the car. Trying to time the waves while using a 2 second delay proved much more difficult that expected. I can honestly say that I have never seen a composition taken from this stretch of rocks. It was humbling and exhilarating at the same time. I love photography! via MattAden http://500px.com/photo/102316315
