Iconic Machu Picchu
A re-edit of a shot from last summer. The more I looked at it the more I wanted to tweak it slightly - so here it is again, my version of the postcard shot of Machu Picchu, taken from the guard house overlooking the ancient city. The Incas built Machu Picchu ('Old Mountain' in Quechua) over the course of 100 years, and only occupied it for another 100. The site was abandoned in the 16th century during the Spanish conquest of Peru and finally rediscovered in 1911. via DanMontalbano http://500px.com/photo/104238063
