Morning at Khaplu
Khaplu Palace (locally known as Yabgo Khar - meaning "The fort on the roof") is an old fort and palace located in Khaplu (second largest kingdom of old Baltistan). The palace, considered an architectural heritage and a tourist attraction, was built in 1840. It served as a royal residence for the Raja of Khaplu. Khaplu (at an elevation of 8,400 ft) is a base for trekking into the Hushe valley leading to Masherbrum and Siachen mountains. The palace was constructed with the help of Kashmiri and Balti craftsmen. Being on the border of multiple regions, the structure of the palace has Tibetan, Kashmiri, Ladakhi, Balti, and Central Asian influences. http://500px.com/photo/118312205
